How far apart from each other do I need to install my recessed lights for the best result?
Determining the optimal spacing of recessed lights for creating ambient lighting in a room involves considering multiple factors, such as the room's purpose, ceiling height, ceiling and wall characteristics, existing lighting, and the type of light fixtures used.
As a general guideline, for standard 8 to 9-foot ceilings, placing recessed lights around 6 to 7 feet apart and placing the downlights about 3 to 4 feet away from the wall to created balanced and even illumination. Adjustments might be needed for taller or sloped ceilings, possibly requiring slightly closer spacing.
However, it's essential to consider the specific characteristics of your space. Seeking advice from a lighting professional can help you determine the optimal placement for achieving your room's desired lighting effect and ambiance.
How much light brightness or luminous flux [unit: lumen] doI need for my room?
Color temperature refers to the characteristic color of light that a light source emits, measured in units called kelvins (K). It is a way to describe the appearance of light based on its warmth or coolness. Lower color temperatures, around 2700K to 3000K, typically emit a warm, yellowish light similar to traditional incandescent bulbs. Higher color temperatures, around 5000K to 6500K, produce a bluish tinted light. Color temperature plays a significant role in setting the mood and ambiance of a space, as well as impacting how colors appear under the light.
LUSA lights provide 3000K at full brightness, and when dimmed below 50%, the temperature warms to 2200K, resembling the lighting seen at sunset. We feel this is the ideal color temperature for home use.

What are Lumens?
Lumens are a unit of measurement used to quantify the amount of visible light emitted by a light source. Essentially, lumens indicate the brightness of a light. The higher the lumen value, the brighter the light will appear. When choosing lighting products, it's important to consider lumens, as it helps determine how well a light source will illuminate a space or object.
What is dimming?
Dimming refers to the ability to adjust the intensity or brightness of a light source. It allows you to control the light output from a light fixture, making it brighter or softer. Dimming can be achieved through various methods, such as dimmer switches, smart home systems, or specialized dimming controls.
It lets you control the light level to suit different preferences, tasks, or moods. Dimming creates a comfortable atmosphere, saves energy, and enhances visual appeal.
What is warm dim?
Warm dim is a lighting technology that mimics the inviting and cozy glow of traditional incandescent lighting while dimming, replicating the gradual color shift seen during a sunset. As you lower the intensity of a warm dim light source, its color temperature gradually transitions from a cooler white light to a warmer, amber hue, simulating the soothing ambiance of dusk. This technology is frequently used to create a calming and welcoming atmosphere, where the progression from bright to dim lighting mirrors the serene transition from day to evening.
Are your LED lights dimmable?
Yes, LUSA recessed downlights feature natural warm dim technology, which provides warm white light for accurate illumination at full brightness and transitions to a relaxing sunset effect when dimmed, reducing blue light output in the process. Our light module has been optimized to provide exceptional performance, with smooth dimming down to 5%, with any smart home or connected dimmer, forward or reverse-phase dimming.
What is a CRI (Color Rendering Index), and why is it important?
The Color Rendering Index (CRI) is a measurement that indicates how accurately a light source reveals the true colors of objects compared to natural sunlight. It's a scale from 0 to 100, with a higher CRI value indicating better color accuracy.
CRI is essential because it helps us evaluate how colors appear under a particular light source. A 90+ CRI ensures that colors are rendered realistically and vividly, creating a visually pleasing environment. Most will notice a significant deterioration of color vibrancy, especially reds, when using an 80 CRI light source.
